Goblinwoode is a small forest in Kerry, Ireland where I first started to notice faces, goblins, imps, dryads, animal hybrids and other monsters superimposed over the forms of wood and stone. As children we find faces in the clouds. We catch a glimpse of fairies out the corners of our eyes. Apophenia is the tendency to pull patterns out of chaos. Pareidolia, a special case, narrows in on faces. The more you look, the more you see.
